CEDAW stands for the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, an international bill of rights for women.  In 1998, San Francisco became the first city in the nation to have adopted a local CEDAW Ordinance.

*The GEP Initiative is a partnership between the Department on the Status of Women, Calvert Group, Ltd. and Verité.  The GEP Initiative helps companies improve gender equality from the factory floor to the boardroom in seven focus areas, including work-life balance, management and governance, marketing practices, and supply chain.
