The Filipina Women’s Network advocates for an education campaign that will
raise awareness about the violence being perpetrated against Filipina women
and girls. Violence against women takes shape in a multitude of forms
including domestic violence, stalking, rape, sexual assault, the
trafficking of women and children, date rape, verbal abuse and harassment,
and hate crimes. Violence statistics in the Filipina community is scant
and this fundraiser is an urgent campaign to prevent and help eliminate
violence against Filipina women and girls. Violence does not discriminate
regardless of class, ability, age, education, immigration status, sexual
orientation, and religion.

Proceeds from this community event will fund an educational campaign in
collaboration with local organizations that has a prevention program to
stop violence against Filipina women and girls.
