In March 2005, FWN published the V-Diaries, the anti-violence resource guide for Filipinas. They were distributed to 35,000 Filipino households through the San Francisco Chronicle, the Examiner and the Bay Area BusinessWoman.  Click on the image (above) to download your copy of the V-Diaries (PDF file).

The V-Diaries is critical to the Filipinas Against Violence campaign.  It is a major effort to reach women in violent situations in their homes and those who know women and girls in abusive situations. It is a collection of articles written by domestic violence survivors and advocates in the fight to end domestic violence in the Filipino community. It contains resource listings of where to go for help and advice on how to talk about violence and abuse.

FWN has received many inquiry calls to-date in response to the guide. Many domestic violence agencies have also told us about receiving referral calls as a result of our publication. The V-Diaries has been uploaded to the FWN website to make the publication available to the larger community.

The publication of the V-Diaries will address cultural and power issues around violence including resources for Filipina women in abusive relationships at home and in the workplace. The guide will have information for both batterers and victims about intervention actions on how to seek help in order to change what is happening in their homes or might happen in another’s affairs, in order to prevent something undesirable happening. A 20,000 print run will be distributed in in the San Francisco and New York / New Jersey areas.

We invite your support.  Your sponsorship will very well save a Filipina woman's life.
