Jane Leu, Founder & President, Upwardly Global

Upwardly Global is a nationally recognized, entrepreneurial nonprofit organization that helps employers benefit from the hidden talent pool of immigrant professionals, and equips these under-employed individuals with the skills and resources necessary to rebuild their careers in the U.S. In their home countries these new Americans were businesspeople, educators, scientists, journalists and nonprofit professionals. “Lessons Learned: Wisdom to Pass On” is the theme and driving spirit of this unique gathering. Participants will have the chance to learn and be inspired by hard-won wisdom gained by the 100 Most Influential Filipinas. To maximize the opportunity to hear as many stories as possible in a limited time, we have devised a “round robin” structure where each participant, including the 100 Most Influential Filipinas, will have 5 different opportunities in 30 minute increments to be part of a small group.

In each group, recipients of the 100 Most Influential Award will each share one personal and one professional lesson learned from their own journey. With eyes set on 2012, the mission of this session is to begin the process of transferring knowledge, identifying protégées and multiplying Pinay Power by the year 2012. The session will begin with “Setting the Stage” and close with “A Call to Action!” by Sonia Aranza & Mona Pasquil.

Be inspired.  Be challenged.  Be mentored.  The Influential 100 will share their stories, their "next steps"  and how they will take their prestigious award to helping fulfill Pinay Power 2012!

  • There will be various panel and roundtable discussions - be prepared to be surprised and have FUN..  Expect some storytelling, sharing, singing, poetry, maybe dancing.....really Pinays getting together in our own inimitable ways....."nag-kwekwentuhan"!!! Here are the six groups:
    • Founders & Pioneers
    • Innovators & Thought Leaders
    • Policymakers & Visionaries
    • Emerging Leaders & Builders
    • Behind the Scenes Leaders
    • "Nicole"
